LEWIS, Ruth Jean, 92, entered into rest on January 28th.
She was a former participant in the family run Lewis’s General Store and a member of the South Jefferson Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Ruth and Pete were known for keeping a beautiful yard and garden.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband, Pete Lewis; two sons, W. Larry Lewis (Lynn ) and Charles David Lewis (Janine); four grandchildren, Elizabeth Hines, Jacob Lewis, Christina Gatewood and Adrianna Lewis; two great-grandchildren, William and Colin Hines.
Her funeral service will be on Saturday at noon at the W. G. Hardy Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10907 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3pm until 8pm on Friday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions with the American Diabetes Association.
