Rosemary M. Devilbiss “MeMaw”, 90, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 28, 2022, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her first Husband, Billy Bright; a daughter, Susan Dolores Bright; her dear sweet mother, Edna Murphy; Her second husband, Claude Devilbiss; Stepdaughter, Estrada Zedan; Sister, Carolyn Burton; Brother, Donald Murphy; and Grandson, Michael Cline.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her daughters, Teresa Haggard (Steve) and Barbara Dunaway (Mel); Sons, Michael Bright (Angie), Tony Bright (Kelly), and Greg Devilbiss; MeMaw loved her Grandchildren: Sarah Cline, Daniel & Adam Bright, Kevin, Meghan, & Katie Bright, Kellie, Michelle, & David Dunaway, Joshua Zedan, Dawn Faget, Aaron Haggard, Kelsey & Kylie Watts; and her 13 great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews; Her beloved dog, JoJo. And we can’t leave out her “Burton Boys”, Butch & Grant.
Mom was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Mom devoted her life to God and to us children and her grandchildren, living an amazingly simple life, yet a life full of love. She wanted a simple quick private funeral to not bring sadness to us. In keeping with Mom’s wishes, which is what we have done, we now can turn our attention to the joy of knowing mom has seen the face of God, ran to those loved ones waiting to greet her, is dancing with the Angels, and is saving a spot for each of us with a twinkle in her Irish blue eyes. We are planning a Celebration of Life for MeMaw at a future date.
We would like to thank the wonderful nurses, doctors, and staff that took care of Mom at Baptist East Park Tower on the 8th floor, the Palliative Care Unit (4th floor) and Hospice. There are no words to describe the appreciation and admiration we have for you in the exquisite and compassionate care given to Mom and to all of us.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Palliative Care Unit in memory of Rosemary Devilbiss by going online to SupportBaptistHealth.org/Louisville.
