Ronald Green

Ronald was born to Margaret Louise Van Dyke and Alfred Lee Green. He attended Louisville public schools, including Central High. As a young man he joined the KY Air National Guard in 1954, and the US Army and the Army Reserve to 1957. He returned home and continued his lifelong love of learning by attending Bellarmine College (1958-1959). On November 1957 he married Willa Dean Carr and from this union they had four children; Derek Andre Green, Margaretta Denise Green, Baby Green and Rhonda L. Green.

Ron re-enlisted in the Army in 1959 where he enjoyed an extremely diversified career including deployments to Vietnam, Korea, Germany and varied locations state-side.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Willa (June 26, 2016); his children, Baby Green (April 4, 1962) and Derek (November 9, 2016).

He is survived by his daughters, Margaretta Green and Rhonda Green; grandchildren, Saraphine Hedges, Rhonne E. Green II, Jonathan C.D. Green Burch, JehCarra Burch Green, SSGT Kiera Green-Montgomery, Johnnyle-Rayne C. Green and Ja-Tianna C. Burch Green; five great-grandchildren, a god-daughter, Lauretha Narvaiz, dear cousins, Leticia Biggs, Ariella Majors, and Ella Jones; best friends, Alfred Brooks, Milton Brown and Sherresha and Charlene Logan; as well as many cousins, extended family and friends, all whom he dearly loved. He will be missed by all.
