He born in Vandenburgh County, Evansville, Indiana. Roger was a retired outside plant technician for the old South Central Bell and Bellsouth for 32 years. Roger was a member of the old Shawnee Christian Church and a US Navy veteran.
He was preceded in eternal life by his parents, Delmar Crawford and Roberta (Goben) Mitchell and an infant sister, Donna Mitchell.
Roger is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn (Reed); beloved daughter, Addie Allen (Nate); awesome granddaughters, Jordan Nicole Arnold and Cali Nichole Allen; rough and rowdy great-grandson, Mason Blair McDougald; siblings, Brenda Watson (Bill), Marilynn Lighter, and Gary Mitchell (Marsha); and numerous nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be on Saturday, August 6th, at 6pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with visitation from 1pm until 6pm.
