Robert "Bob" Duane Shell, 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home in Ft. Pierce, Florida due to complications from cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest “Ernie” and Wanetta, and his older brother Larry. He leaves behind a wife, 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
Bob spent his adult life in sales. He started his own real estate company “Shell & Associates”; spent many years with the NTS Development Company, had home-building business with his son in Jackson, Tennessee; and spent the past 9 years Working in the telecommunications industry as a Senior Acquisition Specialist for Strategic Relocation for Crown Castle. His persistence, knowledge, and experience made him a strong negotiator –but his stories, out-going personality, optimism, humility, and terrific sense of humor made him a dear friend and mentor to so many.
Bob went to Westport High School and graduated from the University of Louisville school of business. He was a musician, an Air National Guardsman, and served many years as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America and was granted the honorary title of Kentucky Colonel by the Commonwealth of Kentucky for his noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to his community.
Bob loved boating, traveling, his family, and his pets. He loved his Cardinals, the sunshine and the beach. He was always a provider and caretaker to those around him and an eternal optimist even as his cancer returned in 2017 and began taking its toll on his health.

Funeral services will be 12 PM Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Arch L Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Rd Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the funeral home.
