She was born in Louisville August 29, 1934 to the late Hazel Dahl. Her husband of 50 plus years, Coy Thomas, son Larry Thomas, and grandson, Captain Matthew Roland USAF, preceded her in passing.
Rita loved spending time with her family and being on the water. She enjoyed going on cruises with her grandchildren and staying at the camp she owned at Rough River. Rita retired after 38 years at McKesson.
Here to carry on her memory are her children; Benita Gerlach (Dave), Barbara Roland (Mark), grandchildren; Larry Moch (Heather), Melanie Landrum (Mike), Sheila Moch, Tina Mason (Matt), Michael Schwitz, Erica Roland, six great grandchildren, and her fur baby, Sammy.
A visitation for Rita will be held Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM.
Rita will be laid to rest privately in Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
