Richard Lee Toll, 83, of Louisville, peacefully went to that big doughnut shop in the sky on October 28, 2023. He grew up in the Schnitzelburg area of Louisville , graduated from Manual High School, enlisted in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in RAF Middenhall, England. It was there where he met his future wife, Mary, at a dance and, as he told it, “he opened his wallet and there she was!”After being honorably discharged, he moved back to Louisville and began his career at the Ford Motor Company, Louisville Assembly Plant, retiring after 30 years of service at 53 years old. Upon the death of his beloved wife, he moved to Florida and enjoyed living in the Sunshine State for many years, and had just recently moved back to Louisville to be closer to family .
Greeting him in heaven are his parents, Robert and Mildred Toll, and his wife of 40 years, Mary. He is survived by his four children: Lisa Rectenwald (Joseph), Rocky Toll (Jennifer), Ryan Toll (Stephanie), and Ramsey Toll (Maria). Brother: Randall Toll (Tanya). Grandchildren: Joshua Rectenwald (Kelly), Ashley Heizer (Joe), Tara Davies, Robert Toll, Brandi Kunish ,Ricky Toll, Reece Toll, and Rachel Toll. Great Grandchildren: Harper Davies and Noah Davies. Nieces/Nephew: Gina Toll Price, Daria Taylor, and Travis Slaughter. He will be missed by his family and remembered for his crazy t-shirts, “Rick-isms” and his love for cookies, candies and jelly doughnuts!
Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, November 3, 2023 at Evergreen Funeral Home with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to Alzheimers Association or American Lung Association.
