Richard C. Taft Sr., 87 of Okolona passed peacefully from this life on Friday September 6, 2013 at the Veterans Administration medical center. A native of Lexington, he was a retired bricklayer, a member of the Louisville Hiking Club, and an Army Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Jo (Alcock) Taft and a son, Paul Taft.
He is survived by his daughters, Christy Lauano and Rosemary Taft Milby (Mike); sons, Richard Jr., and Timothy Taft (Linda); 8 grandchildren, Kaye Curtsinger, Andrea Lauago, Lori Taft Hurley, Susan Taft, Metisa Lauago, Mary Lauago, J. Grant Milby, and Anne Milby; and 8 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Mr. Taft’s life will be held at 12 pm Tuesday at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8519 Preston Highway. Interment with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Monday.
