Randall "Randy" Eugene Marcum

Randy was born on March 15, 1944, in Green County, KY to the late Eddie and Grace Florence Marcum. He is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Norman Marcum and Rev. Elvis Marcum; two sisters, Juanita McCubbin, her husband Gene, Maxine Graham, her husband, Claude; brother-in-law, Robert Twyman; as well as his granddaughter, Patricia Janine Marcum.

He loved his grandchildren and spent many days on field trips with them. He and Patricia, his granddaughter, were avid movie goers. Randy was an avid golfer for many years and loved watching his grandchildren play in sporting events. He also loved to travel with his wife, Deretha, as well as other family members.

Randy was a native of Green County and a member of Jeffersontown Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Deretha Marcum; along with two children, June Reetta Marcum Stikes (James) and Gregory Eugene Marcum (Tanya); brother, Ronald Marcum (Elvenia); sister, Betty Twyman; and sister-in-law, Virginia Marcum; three grandchildren, Chloe Nicole Marcum, Donovan Gregory Marcum and Mitchell Denton Marcum; two great-grandchildren, Nia Imani Stikes and Leila Marie Stikes; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218), A virtual service to honor the life of Randall will follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. To participate virtually, visit our Facebook page “Arch L. Heady at Resthaven”, and ‘like’ the page, and you will receive a notification at 2 p.m. when the service begins streaming. Randall will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Randall may be made to Jeffersontown Baptist Church.
