Shepherdsville - 91, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Glen Ridge Health Campus with her family by her side.
Marilyn was born on December 1, 1927 to the late Henry Louis Maraman and Patti Sanders Pope Maraman, both of Bullitt County. She was a 1945 graduate of Shepherdsville High School and maintained lasting friendships with her fellow classmates. After attending the University of Kentucky she married Clarence R. Lee and became a loving mother and role model to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As a lifelong entrepreneur she had interests in teaching, business, and farming. Her hobbies included history, computer technology, finance and politics. She will be remembered as an intelligent, independent thinker who had respect for the past but an eye toward the future.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her sister Alberta Pope Maraman, and her daughter-in-law Deborah Lee.
Left to cherish her memory are four children: Linda C. Blevens (Mike Campbell), Patti Campbell (Roland), Chris Lee, and Gary R. Lee (Stephanie); her six grandchildren: Kevin Campbell, Karen Gaddie (Billy), Crystal Akridge (Mark), Jason Lee (Ginny), Ryan Lee, and Logan Lee; and her five great-grandchildren: Cody Akridge, Hazlee Gaddie, Haileigh Akridge, Luke Gaddie, and Jacob Lee. The Family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Glen Ridge and the caring team of Hosparus.
In accordance with her wishes Marilyn will be cremated, and there will be a private celebration of life. In her memory, gifts can be made to the Shepherdsville/Salt River DAR, the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, or your favorite charity.
