Davis, Marilyn K., 84 of Louisville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 27, 2022. Marilyn was born on July 4, 1937 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Blees Campbell Dimmick and Martha Augusta Lauterbach Dimmick. She graduated from Woodruff High School (Class of 1955) and Bradley University (Class of 1959) in Peoria, Illinois. After graduation she taught High School for five years. She married Bill Davis on December 23, 1961.
Her teaching was terminated with the birth of her two sons, Bruce and Brent. She was a "Stay at home Mom" while her sons were young, which allowed her to be involved in their school activities and sports. In 1972, she started the summer Arts & Crafts Program for the Fon du Lac Park District in East Peoria, Illinois. She continued volunteer work and many church activities and leadership roles even through their years in Branson, Missouri (1995-2001).
In 2001, they moved to Louisville, Kentucky to be closer to family and participate in their grandchildren’s activities.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bruce Jay (Kathy) Davis of Columbus, Georgia and Brent Joel (Christy) Davis of Louisville; her loving grandchildren, Jeremy Robert, Jacob Andrew (Hannah Stanfield Davis), Abigail Jean (Jared Stamey), Jared Adam and Aiden James; and two great grandchildren, Eli Austin Stamey and Harper Grace Davis.
A private burial will be held at a later date at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky where she will be laid to rest with her loving husband, Bill Davis.
