She was a graduate from Atherton Girl’s High School, the William Woods College in Fulton MO, the Norton Infirmary School of Nursing class of 1945, and was a life member of the Norton Alumni. Marian retired in 1983 from V.A. Hospital as an RN after many years of service. She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter 1. She also worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for the Central Battery Co. of Louisville, her family’s business. Marian was a strong supporter of blood donation.
She is preceded in death by her infant son Douglass, sister Carolyn, and her parents, Ben and Myrtle Frohbieter.
Marian is survived by her son, Jim Turner (Paulette), grandson, Douglass Turner (Kale), great granddaughter, Kaelin McKinley Turner.
A Celebration of Marian’s life memorial service will be conducted 12pm Saturday, December 22, 2012 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Interment will be at Resthaven memorial Park. Visitation will be held after 11am the day of the service.
