Lula Marie Foree Wagoner was born on October 19, 1933 in New Castle, Kentucky to the union of Jesse Lee Foree and Etta Gullion Foree. She made her triumphant transition to be with the Lord at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky on Monday morning, September 30, 2019.
Mom was the fifth born of ten children. Her parents lovingly cared for her and raised her in the Apostolic Faith. As the only daughter she lovingly mothered her brothers. She spent her early years in New Castle. During her early teen years her mother was ill, and Mom assisted in her care until her death.
She received her education at the Lincoln Institute of Shelby County Kentucky and later received a Certificate in Early Childhood Development from Sullivan College.
Mom was baptized at an early age and later received the Holy Ghost under the pastorate of Bishop David T Schultz at Bethel Temple Apostolic Church located at Clay and Breckenridge Streets in Louisville, Kentucky. As a faithful servant of God, she taught Sunday school and is loved and fondly remembered by her former students. She was a devoted member of various auxiliaries and served as head of the Greater Bethel Temple Hospitality committee.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life Clifton Wagoner they were married for 58 years. Their union was blessed with 3 children, Lonnie Biggers, Carolyn Carlton and Timothy Wagoner.
Our Mom loved family. Many afternoons and evenings were spent with her grandson Timothy. She enjoyed taking him to tennis practices, picking him up from school and spending evenings with him. Timothy often went grocery shopping with his “Monya”. They shared a special bond and he was an awesome caregiver during her illness.
Regardless of the hardships she faced Mom enjoyed her life. She loved to travel taking cruises, road trips, vacations, church councils and conventions. Each year she took family vacations. Mom loved to cook and share meals with family. Her punch is famous and loved for showers, brunches and other parties.
Mom utilized her Childhood Development background for employment at EduPlay School. Later she worked at Central State Psychiatric Hospital for over 20 years and retired in 1989 to spend more time with her husband Clifton.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Etta Foree. Her devoted husband Clifton Wagoner. Her brothers, Jesse (Dorothy), Marshall (Helen), David (Joyce), William Perry (Roberta/Bobbie), Jack (Daisy), and Donald (Barbara/Teri).

Our consolation is found in Revelation 14:13 and 1st Thessalonians 4:16,” Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… They may rest from their labors and their works do follow them”. The dead in Christ shall rise first.
Lovingly submitted by the family.
