Lucille “Tillie” Barnes Brown, 97, of Louisville passed away November 22, 2021. She was born January 7, 1924 to the late Charles Wesley and Lucy (Long) Barnes. She is also preceded in death by her two husbands, Robert Glen Boles Sr. and Gilbert F. Brown; daughter, Lyn Jackson AKA “Sparkle the Clown”; siblings, Sylvia Kiser, Ailene Graves, and Rev. Maurice Barnes; stepsons, Gilbert Lee Brown and Robert Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children Barbara Boles, Robert Glen Boles Jr. (Barbara), Charles Wesley Boles (Dawn), Lisa Boles Rosenfeld (Gene), seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Tillie was a devout member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church for 68 years and would often be recognized as one of the bell ringers for music performances. She was an avid golfer and member of Crescent Hill Women’s Club. Tillie always encouraged her children to chase their dreams and be whatever they wanted to be.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, KY 40206 with visitation beginning prior at 11am. Burial will follow at Valley of Rest Cemetery 1411 E Crystal Dr. LaGrange, KY 40031.
