He was a retired warehouseman for GE. Mr. Sherrard was a member of the Hardinsburg Baptist Church. Allen was an avid horseman, handyman and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in rest by his parents, Louie and Frances Sherrard; a sister, Nina McMillen; and three brothers, Bud, Don and Norman Sherrard.
Mr. Sherrard is survived by his wife, Denise; sons, Allen Sherrard (Holly), Jeff Sherrard (Kim), Dean Sherrard (Amanda) and Chris Dyche (Heather); step-children, Brandon Brinkley (Dana), April Brinkley (Bobbi), Corey Brinkley (Amber), Greg Dyche and Matt Daugherty; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Doug Sherrard (Cindy); and sister, Ann Bruton.
His funeral will be at 11am on Saturday at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Vine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3pm until 8pm
