He was a retired office manager for Hobart Manufacturing. Mr. Embry was also a WW II Army veteran and a member of Shively Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; a sister, Jewel Gardner; two brothers, Bert and Jim Embry; and a brother-in-law, Glendon Warren.
Mr. Embry is survived by two daughters, Carol Bratcher (Durward) and Sheila Kimball (Rusty); two grandchildren, Mark Bratcher (Barbie) and Michele Barnes (Jamie); four great-grandchildren, Cody Barnes (Kendra), Corey Bratcher (Maggie), Casey Barnes and Jacob Bratcher; a great-great-granddaughter, Layla Jane Barnes; three sisters, Maxine Bryant (Raymond), Kathleen Warren and Jean Wilmington (Fred); a brother, William Embry (Helen); and sisters-in-law, Edra Embry and Charlene Embry.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 8th, at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Friday from 4pm until 8pm.
