Lewis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Theresa Lawson; his daughters Melinda Miller (Michael) and Michelle Vaught (Matt); his beloved grandchildren Mayola Grace, Kolton Ray, and Max Ray; his sister Dixie Dunn; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He also leaves behind his friend, Chris, from Pull-Apart, as well as his faithful dog, Whiskey, who was his constant companion.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Johnnie and Ronnie Lawson.
Known for his warmth, kindness, and strong family ties, Lewis cherished time spent with his loved ones. He was especially fond of gathering with family for his weekly Sunday pizza tradition, which was always an excuse for his loved ones to come together. Another weekly ritual that brought him joy was enjoying a vanilla milkshake from Dairy Queen. Lewis also had a passion for cars, often spending time working on them and appreciating the finer details of mechanics.
A lifelong fan of University of Kentucky sports, Lewis was often found watching games and cheering on his team. He had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Lewis will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Home Hardy Chapel; 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272, followed by a celebration of life at the same location from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
