Mills, Leona “Mother Dear”, 94, entered into eternal rest on March 27, 2015. Leona was an active member of St. Luke Catholic Church and retired from Air Guard. She enjoyed going to casinos, playing poker, and Texas Hold-em. Leona liked to fish in her younger years and was an avid U of L fan. She was deeply loved by family and friends and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence and son, Jody.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert “Bob” Mills (Joyce), Jerry Mills (Dianne), and Donna Clarkson (Ron); 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 14 great, great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia “Sis” Hawkins, Ada Bell Knott, and Dorothy “Dot” Caple; and brother, William “Junie” Rennirt (Elsie).
A Funeral Mass will be Monday at noon at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4211 Jim Hawkins Dr. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the service, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Clarence.
