Larry Allen Wernert, Sr., 66, of Louisville passed away on August 14, 2012 at his home. He was born on September 23, 1945 to the late Walter and Margaret Lawson Wernert. He was an auto mechanic with Firestone for many years as well as an avid NASCAR fan.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Walter L. Wernert.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Boes Wernert; children, Allen (Kara) Wernert Jr., Sharon (Mike) Redmon and Glen (Pam) Wernert; four grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Clayton and Haylee; two great-grandchildren, Ariel and Zayden and six step children.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday at 10 am at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private inurnment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Friday at the funeral home.
