Judy R. Smith

Judy R. Smith, 67, of Louisville, passed away at Baptist Hospital East on the morning of August 24, 2011 with her loving family by her side. She was the former Judy Russell and a retiree of Medical Center Laundry. Judy was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and loved to play bingo and go to the boat to test her luck.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville "Artie" Smith; parents, Theodore and Rose Soeder Russell; her twin sister, Joan Rone and her nephew, Steven Rone.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Pat Marquess (Don), Barbara Coleman (Pete) and Ted Russell (Elaine); brother-in-law, Mel Rone; step-children, Perry, Renee, Selena and Rob, along with several nieces and nephews.

Judy's Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
