Joy Buckman, 82 of Louisville, passed away January 3, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mona Sherlock. Joy was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for 17 years. She was a retired florist. Joy was quite crafty and loved to read. She loved traveling and going on cruises. Joy’s primary focus was always her family and friends. She was loved by everyone she met and had a smile that could light up the room.
In addition to her parents, Joy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years: Joseph R. Buckman.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gail Cecil (Don), Robert Paul Buckman (Vicki), and Susan Tapp (Rick); 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be held 12 PM Friday, January 10, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 508 Breckenridge Ln Louisville, KY 40207 with entombment to follow at Highland Memory Garden. Visitation will be 2-7 PM Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Arch L Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Rd Louisville, KY 40218.
