John A Westerfield

John was a distributor for McKee Foods (Little Debbie) for 43 years before retiring in 2020. He was an Army National Guard Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, and a graduate of Trinity High School class of 1964. John was a devout Catholic and long-time member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Basham Westerfield; children, John Thomas Westerfield (Susan), Kimberly Jackson (Donald), Rebecca Westerfield (Christopher), Matthew Penn; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jacob), Zachary (Maegan), Joshua, Jacob, Sarah (Adam), Jake Andrew, Chelsey, and Luke; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Larry Basham (Judy), Michael Basham (Robin), Tim Basham (Hazel), and Richard Basham; sister-in-law, Rose Austin (Carl); and numerous loved nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in passing by his parents; siblings, Anne Sweeney (John), Henry Westerfield (JoAnn), Dorothy Westerfield, and Larry Westerfield; brothers-in-law, David Basham, and Steve Zanone.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 26th, at 9:30 AM, at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25th from 1 PM to 8 PM at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road. He will be entombed at Resthaven Memorial Park following Mass on Thursday.
