She was born May 17, 1952 in Louisville, the daughter of the late, John and Irma (Schneider) McIntyre. She was also preceded in death by spouses Charlie Atkins and Brentley Stice, sister Carol Mueller and brother-in-law Daniel Mueller.
Janet was a 1985 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She enjoyed many years practicing in Louisville and was steadfast in her dedication to her patients. She was equally committed to her family and animal companions. Over her life she opened her home continuously to them both. An avid collector of teapots, silver and other objects of interest, she had a keen curiosity and passion for life’s small treasures.
The cause dearest to Janet’s heart was advocacy for those with developmental disabilities. Inspired by her sister Donna, giving voice to the voiceless became a lifelong commitment.
She is survived by siblings; Pat McIntyre (Mindy), Donna McIntyre and Diane Harris. Nieces and nephews; Nikki Bonifer (Dennis), Shelley Ramsey (Stanley), Charlie Owen (Jennifer), Bryan McIntyre, Marcie Blanco (Roberto), Olivia Driscoll, Ben Driscoll and Simon Fornwalt. All of whom will dearly miss her unique brand of affection.
A service to remember and celebrate Janet’s life will be conducted at 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Family and friends may gather to visit from 12-5 PM prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests that everyone in attendance wear a mask.
