James Michael "Mike" Selch

A private service will be held for immediate family with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A celebration of life service will be held when his many friends and family are able to gather to honor his memory.

Mike was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1971 and attended Western Kentucky University. He served for 13 years as a volunteer firefighter with Buechel Fire Department, rising to the rank of Captain and serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees before retiring from service. He served in the automotive industry for over 46 years, and in retirement worked for JCPS. He enjoyed spending time fishing, golfing and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever he could.

Mike is survived by his wife Anita of 44 years, his son Brent (Emily) and daughter Laura, his beloved six grandchildren, Colin, Lucas, Ethan, Katherine, Connor, and Peyton, his sisters Diana Stengel (Norman) and Patricia Selch (Bobby), his brothers John (Deana) and Bob (Karen), many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Peggy (Fitzpatrick) Selch, and brothers Stephen and Tommy (Pat).
