James Strader Nelson

Born on November 19, 1939 in Drakesboro, Kentucky, Jim was the son of the lates’ James W. Nelson & Edith N. Strader. He was a Navy Veteran and retired from BF Goodrich – Poly One.

His parents, James W. & Edith N. Nelson; & sister, Linda Proctor, precede James in his passing.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 41 years, Barbara Nelson; daughter, Jenice Fitzgerald; son, Brian Nelson; step – sons, Mark (Kimberly) Durbin & Clay (Joy) Durbin; beloved – grandchildren, Cameron (Mackenzie) Durbin, Becca Durbin, Dane Durbin, Jenna Durbin; step – grandson, Brandon Brooks; sisters, Sharon (Kenny) Mills & Pam Mello; many nieces & nephews; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Burial will be private in the Veterans Garden of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
