John Edsell & Mary Francis (Armour) Merideth “dealt” their second son, known to all his family as Russell, on May 6, 1940, in Louisville, KY. He later became known as “Rusty” to all that knew him.
Rusty proudly served in the US Army, 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment, as a border guard on the front lines in Fulda Gap, Germany.
After the military, Rusty “made his bankroll” as a mechanic specializing in front end alignments for Sears Automotive until retiring.
Rusty and his wife, Jean, had a "three of a kind"…Olivia, CJ, & James.
Rusty’s leisure time was spent deer hunting, fishing, boating, & camping while smoking his big cigars. He loved TV reruns, movies, oil painting, telling stories & jokes, playing cards with family and friends. He was also a huge John Wayne fan.
Rusty leaves behind 2 daughters & a son…Olivia J. Miller (Ricky Bottoms), CJ Morgan & James R Merideth II (Yvonne); 6 grandchildren…Tyler R. Morgan, Matthew D. Miller, Jaimee R. Merideth, Cecilia A. Merideth, A. Zane Merideth, & Eamon O. Merideth; & 6 great grandchildren…Autumn, Aliyah, Aubrey, Chandler, Bailey & Hunter. He was especially close to his nephews Ranzel & Robert Merideth. Over the last year of his life, his caregivers Tina, Danny, and his most constant caregiver Wanda, were special to him and brought much love to him during the last part of his journey here on earth.
Loved ones that “left the proverbial card table” before Rusty were his parents John & Mary; & his siblings…Juanita, Naomi “Tod”, Alice, Ranzel, Lillian, Mable, and Terry; his oldest grandson Timothy J. Miller, and son-in-law, Troy D. Miller also “folded” before he did.
