George is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Aline James; his siblings, Donald James, Jimmy James, Pearl Chambers, Larry James, Eddie James; and his love, Lisa Gaines.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Lefler and husband Chad, grandchildren, Cameron, Lauren and Ethan; his siblings, David James, Carlos James, Earl James, Helen (Cissy) Lasley, Monk James and Betty James, and his beloved dog Harley. George also leaves behind many other extended family members and friends.
George was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He had a real passion for music, cars, playing his guitars with his friends, and riding his Harley Davison’s. He loved telling jokes and sharing stories with everyone. He also loved playing cards, dice, and board games with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Cralle, 2428 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville KY 40206. A funeral service in George’s honor will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 10, 2023, with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
