Edward Everett Milton III

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Edward E. Milton, III. Ed passed away the morning of July 4, 2023 at 90 years old in Louisville, KY. Throughout his life, he ran many service stations, was a mechanic, new car service manager at V.V Cooke Chevrolet, worked for KOL Auto Parts, TMC Truck Repair and owned the local Joni’s Fudge Company with his sweetheart, Joan. He will always be remembered for the hardworking and loving son, son in law, father, grandfather, uncle and man that he proved himself to be. Ed devoted all of the love and pride in his heart to his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan L. (Downs) Milton, mother, Ethel Pauline (Froman) Milton, father, Edward E. Milton, Jr., mother-in-law, Anna Mae (Whalen) Downs, father-in-law, William A. Downs, brothers, Gene Milton, Tommy Milton, Donald Milton, and Gordon Milton.

Ed leaves his memories with his children: Charles Joseph Otte, Jr. (Mary), Kathleen Ryan (Rocky), and Cyndi Burns (Ulis); sister, Ramona (Milton) Sester; and grandchildren: Kendrick Taughter, Adrienne Barnett (greg), Lindsay Davenport (Nathan), Jody Otte (Christine), Andrea Burns (Tammy), and Alexander Burns. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation held on Sunday, July 9th from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again Monday, July 10th from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will be begin at 1:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218).
