Uldis Normunds Streips, 76. Born in Riga, Latvia, February 1, 1942, Uldis’ life is defined by his love of heritage, teaching, sports, and family. Uldis educated many people about the Latvian culture, food, and music, and spent more than 40 years performing as the bass guitarist for the Latvian folk band, “Cikagas Piecisi.” Uldis was also a Professor of Microbiology at the University of Louisville Medical School for 45 years, where he received countless teaching awards from his students. Uldis was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and is survived by a daughter, Krista, son, Krisjans, and grandchildren, Anja, Zander, Nora, and Maia. His memorial service will occur 10 am, Friday, February 8, at Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Rd, Louisville, KY 40223.
