Doris was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. After being widowed at an early age, Doris was blessed to spend 12 years with her husband William before his death in 2020. They enjoyed church, family, friends, and upgrading their home, and we can’t forget “Cutler the Rooster”. Doris also loved and cherished her only grandchild, Cameron.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Leon Disponett (2020), and by her first husband, James C. Sample, Jr. (1979); her parents; and 10 siblings.
She leaves her son, Kevin Sample (Sherry); grandson, Blaine Cameron Sample; and many nieces and nephews to remember her life.
A special thank you to Chris Disponett, Kenneth Disponett, and their families for loving Doris as their own. Their selfless attention to her and William is sincerely appreciated. Further thank you to Hosparus of Louisville, Jennifer her visiting nurse, and her Cutler Road neighbors.
A service to celebrate Doris’ life will be held on Wednesday, June 1st, at 1 PM, in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will take place before the service on Wednesday from 11-1 PM. She will be laid to rest following the service at Resthaven Memorial Park.
