Diane Langston of Louisville, KY, passed away at her home on December 14, 2024. She was born on October 31, 1955, in Paducah, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Layman Jr.; her parents, Irene and Robert Langston; and her brother, David Langston. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Shellee Jones (Brandon).
Diane and Ed married in 1993, and they were happily married for 30 years. They were lucky to find each other and shared a deep bond built on love, trust, and laughter.
Diane was a lifelong learner with an impressive educational background. She earned a B.S. in Biology from Western Kentucky University, a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Louisville, and later an MBA in Business Administration, also from the University of Louisville.
Diane dedicated her career to the field of chemistry, working for decades in research, analytical services, and project management. Her work reflected her intelligence, meticulous nature, and passion for science.
Diane had a deep love for animals and supported causes close to her heart, including animal welfare, human rights, poverty alleviation, and environmental action. In her free time, Diane enjoyed trips to the casino, visiting art festivals, and caring for her beloved cats. She also had a passion for collecting, a reflection of her appreciation for life’s little joys.
The family will honor her life at a private memorial.
