Deborah Garrett

Deborah Marie Garrett, age 67, died on September 19, 2022 in Louisville, Kentucky. Debbie was the daughter of the late Ruel and Eunice Carter, and was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Green. Debbie married James, the love of her life and husband of 42 years, in 1979. Debbie was a homemaker and mother who made it her mission to raise her children in Christ. She was devoted to her mother, Eunice, and acted as her loving caregiver until the last days of her mother’s life. Family was Debbie’s life. Whether tirelessly fundraising to send her daughter to cheerleading competitions, or supporting her sons in their art, Debbie’s love and enthusiasm encouraged her family and friends to make the most of their lives. Her grandchildren especially were a source of great joy to her in her final years.

Debbie is survived by her husband, James Garrett, her brother, Jeffrey Carter, her three children, David Garrett, Jennifer Denny, and Jeremy Garrett, her cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, and Jacob, her sisters-in-law, Paula Garrett and Bonnie Carter, her son-in-law, Wesley Denny, and her beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Debbie will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with a funeral service to begin in Debbie’s honor at 2:00 PM.
