He worked as a dispatcher for Dixie Warehouse, a sales representative of manufactured housing, and delivered newspapers for the Courier Journal. He attended Briargate Presbyterian Church, was a member of VFW Post 1181, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He had a passion for breeding and raising cockatiels.
Luke was preceded in death by the mother of his children Mary Jo, his second wife Blanche, and a son Leonard Wildeson. Survivors include his daughters Paula Howard and Teresa Curl; a son, David Wildeson; nephew, Terry Basham; grandchildren Jess, Brittany, Natalie, and Taylor; 4 great-grandchildren; and his loving companion Laverne Avery.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. A memorial gathering of friends of family will be Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
