He was an auto mechanic for 44 years, retiring as a Master Mechanic from Clapp Automotive. He also earned his private pilot's license and enjoyed working on and flying small planes when he had the opportunity. He was an enthusiastic fisherman who loved playing card and board games and spending time with his family. He was also an accomplished country western dancer and a casual coin collector.
David is survived by his wife, Sharon Spurrier (née Hof); children, Debra Wing (Rian), David Leon Spurrier (Melissa), and Lianna Joy Spurrier; brother, Rick Spurrier; and grandchildren, Cassidy Rogers, Owen Spurrier, and Graham Spurrier. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Spurrier and Betty Jean Spurrier (née Sheridan).
A memorial visitation will be held from 11am - 2pm Saturday, October 22, 2022, with a memorial service starting at 2pm at Arch L. Heady - Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
