David Arthur Fortner

David Arthur Fortner, 63, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born to the late Carole Lee (Allen) and William Arthur Fortner in Kenton County, Kentucky on May 10,1961.

David was a graduate from Amelia High School in 1979. From there he followed in his parent's footsteps in the horse industry. David's career was spent traveling all of the US to many race tracks where he earned a reputation as a dedicated, hard worker, and excellent horseman. Nothing was more important to David than to be very active in Devin's life. He was at every practice and game - no matter what sport Devin was playing. David was always a staple at the Fortner Family Reunions.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Devin Anton Fortner, of Louisville; sister, Joddie Lee Fortner, of Florence, Kentucky; brother, William Joel Fortner (Debbie), of Miami, Florida; nieces and nephews, Brooke Fortner, Garrett Fortner, and Amanda Black; former wife, Susan Fortner; 3 Jack Russells, Jip, Bodie, Adin; and many extended family and dear friends.

A Memorial Visitation for David will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home - Okolona Chapel, 8519 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40219.
