He was born March 15, 1943 in Fresno, California; the son of the late David Ellsworth Gentry and Delia Bedel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Rick, Alvina and Vern; a grandson, Roma Pease and his son-in-law, Robert Paul.
Dave was a United States Air Force Veteran and went on to become a Trooper with the Michigan State Police. He was a faithful member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Prospect, KY. He was very handy around the house and enjoyed woodworking. He will be remembered for his great laugh.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Diane Coleman; four children, Wendy Paul, Douglas Coleman (Sarita), Matthew Coleman (Aliceha) and Jessica Coleman; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A Mass to celebrate David’s life will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 18, 2024 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Ave., Prospect, KY 40059. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
