Cletus John Kruse, Sr., 91, of Jeffersonville, IN; formerly of Louisville, passed away on the early morning of April 21, 2016. He was a retired heavy equipment operator who was a wonderful conversationalist with a great wit. Cletus was a World War II veteran serving in the U. S. Navy, who loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially at the river house. He loved a good time and singing his favorite German song, "Schnitzelbank." He was a big U of L fan and you could always find him with his shadow by his side, Blondie, his dog.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Florence Beauerle and Delores Ice, along with the mother of his children, Marie Kruse.
Left cherishing his memory are his children, Cletus J. (Debbie) Kruse Jr., Jimmy (Joanie) Kruse and Pam (Rick) Pyles; brother, Frank (Alma) Kruse; ten grandchildren, Kasey Miller, Chris, Travis and Kevin Kruse, Amber Recktenwald, Rick Jr, Brian and Shelby Pyles, Bill Varner and Amy Flannery and 13 great-grandchildren; and his beloved Blondie.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 10 a.m., at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 8409 Hudson lane, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m.
