From an early age, Christine marched to the beat of her own drum. Growing into a gorgeous woman of tall stature, she lived much of her life as an art performance. Starting with an exceptional stage presence in her hometown plays, followed by a modeling career, and later graduating from clown college to entertain as "Jazzy" with her iconic purple wig and pink Converse sneakers. She was a great entrepreneur and her ultimate performance would be becoming DJ Christine, creating musical memories at many weddings and special events, along with her unforgettable "World Music Nights" in Erie, PA.
Christine was revered by her family as being kind, warm, intelligent and accepting of everyone. She had two daughters with her former spouse Omar and they lived a few years in Mexico City where she embraced the culture and language. She was a loving sister, daughter, aunt and considered a "second mom" by many of her daughters' friends. With her magnetic personality and great sense of humor, Christine made friends everywhere she went and her smile lit up every room she walked into.
Later in life, Christine went on to become a global activist and was extremely passionate about creating a more just and fair world for all its citizens. With her children all grown up, she spent much of her time with her longtime partner, Dan, and they enjoyed many travels and adventures together. She loved reading, African drumming, spending time with her kitties, music festivals, and a good beer buzz early in the morning.
She is survived by her daughters, Marielle (Austin) Clark and Carissa Perez and their father, Omar Perez; brother, Larry (Mary Kay) Chadwick and sister, Stacy (Matthew) Kaliszewski; nieces, Erika, Madison, Sara, Kendall and nephew, Dalton; her loving partner, Dan Ash; and two cats she adored, Freddy and Snow Boots.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Robinson and father, Larry Gorney.
There will be a private family service on September 3, 2022. Please keep her and family in your thoughts and prayers.
