"Charlie" was born on April 8, 1939 in Portland, Louisville, KY and was a third generation Journeyman Iron Worker out of Local #70. He also worked as a Millwright for Ford Motor Company. Charlie had a passion for skydiving and was the former co-owner of Kentuckiana Sport Parachute Center in Ramsey, IN.
He also had a lifetime love of boating and camping on Dale Hollow Lake.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, William and Christine McGuire; siblings, Bill McGuire, Jeanie Carnes, and Chris McGuire; and his dear aunt, Tellie Meadors.
He is survived by his daughters, Tammy McGuire Golde (Dwight), Missy McGuire Walls (Rick), and Charla McGuire Reeves (Joe); former wife and friend, Ruby J. McGuire; grandchildren, Lauren Walls, Damien Golde, Drew Walls, Rachel Golde, Ally, Maggie, and Lainey Reeves; great-grandchild, Ava Hug; and sister-in-law, Wanda McGuire.
There will be a funeral service to honor Charlie's life at 2pm on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Evergreen Funeral Home, with committal service to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Thursday and from 12-2pm on Friday at the funeral home.
