Charles Newell Warren, 84, of Louisville, passed on November 2nd 2023. He was survived by his partner, Marjorie Mullen, (currently) of Cincinnati, his son and daughter-in-law, Charles N., and Sandra Warren, both of Lexington, a sister, Constance Brent Warren, of Louisville, two granddaughters, Amanda Broccolo, of Austin, Texas, and Nancy Stinnett, of McKee, Kentucky, a grandson, Jason Reeves of Lexington, four great-grandchildren and many beloved cousins, young and old, with whom he’d been in frequent contact over his lifetime.
A 1956 graduate of Eastern High School in Louisville, graduate of Georgetown College (1962), he received an M.S. in Chemistry and Physics from the University of Kentucky (1965), and later studied Physics and Astronomy at the University of Knoxville, Tullahoma, Tennessee. Employed as Instructor for Sullivan University, Louisville Campus, for more than thirty years until his retirement in 2020, he enjoyed a long career as educator. Marathon runner and triathlete into his late seventies, speleologist, bicyclist, swimmer, advocate of fitness and well-being for all, a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington, as well as the National Rifle Organization, and the Kentucky Republican Party, he was nominated to and accepted as a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels in 2018.
His relatives and his many dear, lifelong friends are invited and encouraged to attend a memorial visitation held at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home 7410 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40222 on July 27th, 2024 from 11am to 12pm, with a memorial service starting at 12pm.
