Carolyn Faye Sisk

Carolyn was a resident of the Masonic Home Crescent Grove memory care unit for the last year. She was a graduate of Western High School in Detroit and went back to Tennessee for her undergraduate degree in teaching at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. It was there she met her husband of 54 years, Audy V. Sisk. Carolyn got a Masters of Education from the University of Pittsburgh, an advanced reading specialist certificate from Xavier University in Cincinnati and a counselor’s certification from the University of Louisville. She retired from the Jefferson County Public School System and served her last fifteen years as counselor at Churchill Park School.

Carolyn is survived by husband Audy and daughter Andrea Shuff as well as granddaughters Cassidy Sage Sisk of San Francisco and Madalyne Helon Shuff of Louisville, as well as numerous cousins. She is predeceased by her son, Ritchey A. Sisk and father Lee D. Ritchey, mother Helon Eileen Bratcher Ritchey, and brother Jerald Lee Ritchey of Tennessee.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Masonic Home Crescent Grove memory care unit and the fourth floor palliative care staff of Baptist Hospital East as well as the wonderful staff of Hosparus for the love and care they showed Carolyn.

Visitation will be from 4 PM-8 PM Friday June 7 at the Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave, Louisville Ky 40206. The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 8 at Broadway Baptist Church, 4000 Brownsboro Rd. Louisville, KY 40207 with interment to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
