Carol Jean Dawson

She retired from Humana and was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. She was known for being an avid U of L fan, and loved family game nights. She really enjoyed lunches with lifelong friends and spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bobby Bearden, Tommy Bearden; sister-in-law, Sandy Bearden; niece, Sarah Bearden; nephews, Keith Bearden and Jimmy Vowels.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years, George Dawson; sons, Brent Dawson (Michelle), Bart Dawson (Mary), Doug Dawson (Maria); grandchildren, Brandon, Holly, Ryan, Troy, Devin, Megan, Christopher, Ethan, Emma and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Matt, Chandler, Lincoln; siblings, Vikki(Mike), Kathy(Joe), Stanley and David(Jackie); sister-in-laws, Dorothy and Dee, and a host of nieces, and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 2-7pm at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home in Okolona. A memorial mass will be Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 10am at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy., Louisville, Kentucky 40219 with inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Rita Catholic Church or Crusade for Children.
