Brendan Zavada passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2021 at the age of seventeen. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 15, 2004. He was a student at Ballard High School and previously attended Denfeld High School in Duluth, Minnesota.
Brendan had an adventurous spirit. He was very active and loved to play almost every sport, especially basketball and lacrosse, and was a University of Kentucky fan. He excelled at cross country running, enjoyed fishing, and practically lived in his backyard pool during the summer. Brendan loved music and had just started learning to play the guitar.
Brendan was funny, charming, and usually the center of attention. He especially loved hanging out with his friends. He could at times be mischievous and a little wild, but could also be extremely sweet and considerate to those he cared about.
Brendan is survived by his mother, Janna Zavada, and father, David Doerr (Casey Grant). He also leaves behind paternal siblings Holden and Layla, grandparents Kim Forleo, Dean Forleo, Diana Zavada, and Raymond Zavada, aunts Hope Zavada and Statia Prince, uncle Jason Zavada, and cousins James, Catherine, Lauren, Katelyn, Taylor, and Benjamin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital under the Brendan Zavada Memorial Fund. (http://giftfunds.stjude.org/BrendanZavadaMemorialFund)
