Billie D. Sturgeon

Billie D. Sturgeon, 84, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2018. He was born in Hart Co., Cave City, KY on September 29, 1933. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956 and was in the Army Reserves until 1963. Billie retired from Chevron Oil Company after 27 years of loyal service. He also worked at Dairy Mart on Greenwood Rd for 35 years and C-Squared Plumbing Co for 16 years. Billie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Gladys Adwell Sturgeon; and sister, Joe Anne Zwakenberg.

Left to cherish Billie’s memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Norma Hayes Sturgeon; children, Debbie Wooldridge (Alan), Sandra Axman (Doug), Billie Sturgeon Jr; grandchildren, Andy Wooldridge (Amanda), Alicia Wooldridge (Ronnie Kron), Ashley Sturgeon, Tyler Axman (Kelly, Casey Axman; great grandchildren, Jacob Wooldridge, Jaden Wooldridge, Dayton and Bryce Kron; brothers, Clabern Sturgeon (Shirley) of Romeoville, IL and Harold Sturgeon (Cindy) of Horse Cave, KY.

A Funeral Service will be Monday, May 21, 2018 at 2pm at Evergreen Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday from 2-8pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Billie’s honor to the American Heart Association.
