She was a retired janitor for JCPS. Mrs. Hiestand was a member of Penile Baptist Church.
She was preceded in rest by her husband, Merlin "Joe" Hiestand, and a daughter, Deborah Kay Barnhart.
Mrs. Heistand is survived by a son, Dennis Hiestand (Kathy); a daughter, Linda Patterson (David); three grandchildren, Heather Hiestand, Wesley Hiestand (Diane) and Kalyn Caldwell (Jason); two great-grandchildren, Lexie Grace Patterson and Jason Caldwell, Jr.; a sister, Dorothy Renfro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be on Friday, January 6th, at 1pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 10am-2pm and 4pm until 8pm.
