Mannix, Benjamin Carl, 89, passed from this life on Friday May 6, 2016. He was retired from the K & I Lumber Co., a former pastor and missionary to the Appalachia area of Kentucky, and a member of the First Alliance Church. Mr. Mannix loved gardening, and was a talented artist and enjoyed oil painting. In his youth in the 1940’s he was the KY State Champion in the mile. He was preceded in death by his wives, Kathryn Schweinebraten Mannix and Ida Wessman Mannix. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Laura Kuniholm and Martha Mannix; sons, Tim, Ben, and Brian Mannix; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mr. Mannix life will be held Sunday at 1:00 pm at First Alliance Church, 3726 Bardstown Road, with private interment. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Saturday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Memorial gifts may be made to his church.
