She was born in 1937 to Edith (Day) and George Bowersox in Detroit, MI. Barb grew up in Michigan, where she started her own family with her first husband, Bob Jessop. The family moved to Louisville, KY in 1970 where Barb continued raising the family and then began her career. Barb and Bob divorced, and later she met and then married GW “Dub” Rodgers and gained an even larger family. She was always very good with numbers and worked in a few companies in the accounting department.
As an older student, Barb attended the University of Louisville where she got her Associates Degree in Business Management. She spent the majority of her career working for the Housing Authority of Louisville in the Accounting Department before retiring. She also used her accounting skills volunteering with her church, Watkins United Methodist Church. She didn’t stay retired for long, joining Lowe Chiropractic & Wellness, where she worked with payroll until she could no longer work.
Barb loved people and animals and surrounded herself with both. Those who met her always talked about just how nice she was and how much she loved her family. She had many friends in her life that she also considered family, most especially the Lowe family.
She is survived by her children Becky Fish, Liz Gumm (Randy), John, and Chris; step-children Michelle Amini (Ralph) and Robyn; grandchildren Bo, Andrew, Clarissa, Lindsey, Stephanie, Barrett, Katie, Josh, Lauren, Emily, Roni, Austin, Amber, Aryanna, Zhaleh, Syrous and Azita; as well as many, many great-grandchildren.
