Arlie P. Peters, 81, of Louisville, passed away July 30, 2012 at Baptist Hospital East with his wife of 35 years at his side. He was born on April 18, 1931 in Wharton, West Virginia to the late James Early Peters and Dona Green. He was retired from General Electric and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church, and Clark Lodge of F &A.M. #40 where he was a member for over 50 years.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Nell Corbin Peters; children, Jeanella Schutter, Tim (Connie) Peters, Venita Lacy, Charlene Giles, Dianna (Brian) Darling, Greg (Marian) Giles and Vivian (David) Passmore; thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Iva, Opal and Lois; and three brothers, Dallas, Arnie and Denzil.
A celebration of his life will be conducted at 2pm Friday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10-2 on Friday at the funeral home.
