Amy Rita Aubrey

Amy Rita Aubrey, 61 of Louisville passed away on July 13, 2021. She is preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine M. Alsup. She was born and joined her parents, Rea and Geraldine “Gere’” in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Amy is survived by her children, Joshua Aubrey and Ceara Aubrey, her father, Rea T. Alsup and a brother, Geoffrey Alsup and his spouse Teresa, niece, Alexandra and nephew, Dane. She’s also survived by her faithful companion, Peanut.

Amy graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and proceeded to Morehead State University. She then married Ronald Aubrey, who then served in the U.S. Navy. Together they raised their two children Joshua and Ceara, and traveled as a Navy family to many ports such as Virginia Beach, VA, San Diego, CA, and Sasabo, Japan.

Upon return to the U.S., Amy entered into graduate school at the University of Louisville and earned a Master of Arts degree in Teaching. She then taught in elementary schools of JCPS for 13 years, before a forced retirement due to her health. Amy had traveled widely with her parents before marriage in the U.S. Southwest, Mexico, and Paris, France.
