Alton S. (Parsons, Hornback) Milam, 90, of Fairdale, passed away July 4, 2013 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born on November 10, 1922 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Alton Parsons and Carrie Hardison Parsons.
She was a member of the Divine Savior Lutheran Church and was retired from the city of Louisville. She was a Kentucky Colonel, former den mother for pack 65, 94 and 210 as well as a member of the Fairdale Senior Citizens. Alton was a charter member of the Order of the Amaranth Jefferson Court #12, a member of the order of the Amaranth Friendship Court #21, a charter member of the Fairdale Eastern Star #560 and a member of the American Businesswoman’s Association.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Milam; and her first husband, Elmer B. Hornback.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Orthober (William), Bert Hornback (Lori), Kenneth Hornback (Cheryl), Dennis Hornback (Margaret), Rodney Hornback (Stephanie) and Connie Moore (Danny); 12 grandchildren;18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lola Cook.
A celebration of her life will be conducted Monday at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 at the funeral home.
